Zoe Karamitrou studied at the Law School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and received (1999) from the same School the title of Doctor of Public Law, with a focus on Ecclesiastical Law.
She was a scholarship holder of the State Scholarships Foundation.
She is a member of the Athens Bar Association (1990) and worked as a Lawyer dealing with public contracts, intellectual property and the inclusion of educational organizations in European programs.
She was (2001 on secondment) the Director of the Office of the Secretary General of Religious Affairs Professor I. M. Konidaris and a lecturer (2021 on secondment) at the Directorate of European and International Cooperation of the Ministry of Immigration and Asylum, a position from which she was given the opportunity to participate in work meetings in the context of representing the country in the European process and the negotiations on immigration issues.
Serves (1998) in the Independent Authority "The Greek Ombudsman", as a specialist scientist, within the framework of the Authority's special competences.
She is a founding member and General Secretary of the "Society of Ecclesiastical and Canon Law" and a member of the Scientific Committee of the scientific magazine "Nomokanonika" (Sakkoula Publications)
She actively participates in the scientific dialogue with commentary, article writing, authorship and conference participation.
She writes book presentations in the newspaper "Kathimerini tis Kiriakis".
