The Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs in cooperation with the National Transparency Authority (NTA) co-organised on Tuesday 24 May 2022 a conference on: "University & Transparency - Memoranda of Understanding between Universities & the NTA: From Planning to Implementation".
The event was attended by representatives of the administrations of all the Universities of the country and the NTA.
The Minister of Education and Religious Affairs, Mrs. Niki Kerameos, declared the opening of the conference, followed by a speech by the Governor of the National Transparency Authority, Mr. Angelos Binis.
During the presentations of the representatives of the National Authority for Higher Education, the National Transparency Authority and the Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs, the multi-level importance of the processes of promoting transparency and integrity, quality assurance and the strengthening of control and accountability mechanisms in higher education institutions was highlighted.
The representatives of the administrations of the six Universities that have already concluded Memoranda of Cooperation with the National Transparency Authority presented the actions for the implementation of these Memoranda, with emphasis on the operation of the Internal Audit Units and the institution of the Integrity Advisor.
