More than 170 public and private sector officials had the opportunity to attend the Webinar on: "The Contribution of EEA- Grants to the effective implementation of the National Integrity System", which took place on Wednesday, 22 November 2023. The webinar was organized by the National Transparency Authority (NTA), as the Project Promoter of the Project "Strengthening Integrity, Transparency and Anti- Corruption Framework”, funded by the Programme "Good Governance, Accountable Institutions, Transparency" of the EEA Grants Financial Mechanism 2014-2021.

In the context of the webinar, the following were topics were presented:

  • The EEA Financial Mechanism and its contribution towards reducing economic and social disparities and strengthening bilateral relations between Donor and Beneficiary States.
  • The Programme “The Good Governance, Accountable Institutions, Transparency” as a tool to support interventions to enhance transparency and efficiency in the public sector.
  • The Project “Strengthening Integrity, Transparency and Anti-Corruption Framework" and its contribution to the effective implementation of the National Integrity System.

The webinar was the launch event of the Project, in accordance with the Regulation on the implementation of the EEA Grants Implementation Regulation, the Communication Strategy of the National Focal Point and the NTA’s Communication Plan and aimed at presenting the contribution of Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway to a green, competitive and inclusive Europe.

Within the framework of the EEA Grants Financial Mechanism 2014-2021, the National Transparency Authority implements in cooperation with the OECD implements the project "Strengthening integrity, transparency and anti-corruption framework" aiming to support the implementation of National Anti-Corruption Action Plan (NACAP), as the national framework for planning and monitoring the implementation of policies and actions to prevent and combat corruption and a key tool for monitoring the country's compliance with the requirements arising from: a) its participation in the EU and b) the binding recommendations of international organizations.
