The EU's Enhanced Surveillance Mechanism Progress Report for Greece about the 4th quarter of 2020, which was published on 18.11.2020, highlights the contribution of the National Transparency Authority (NTA) to the improvement in our country's performance in tackling corruption and the progress in the implementation of the National Anti-Corruption Action Plan. Furthermore, explicit reference is made to high value-added actions that are currently underway, such as the updating of the strategy to combat corruption in the health sector, the codification of the framework for the financing of political parties and the introduction of modern methodological tools for risk analysis for the planning of Assets and Funds (asset status) Declaration ("Pothen Esches") inspections. Special reference is made to the forthcoming legislative initiatives in the areas of lobbying and internal control.
It is also highlighted the significant contribution of the National Transparency Authority in strengthening horizontal coordination between audit institutions and law enforcement agencies, as well as in enhancing integrity in the public sector through the strengthening of the internal audit system.
