Between 21st and 23rd January 2021, NTA inspectors conducted emergency audits in 18 public hospitals in the Attica Region (1. Evangelismos General Hospital of Athens, 2. Andreas Syggros' Hospital of Cutaneous & Venereal, 3. LAIKO - Athens General Hospital, 4. KAT – Attica General Hospital, 5. General and Maternity Hospital ‘Helena Venizelou’, 6. Asklepieio Voulas-General Hospital, 7. Alexandra - General Hospital Athens, 8. Hippokration - General Hospital Athens, 9. Korgialeneio – Benakeio Red Cross - General Hospital Athens, 10. Agia Eleni - Spiliopouleio Pathological Hospital Athens, 11. Konstantopoulio - Patision General Hospital Nea Ionia/ Athens, 12. Agios Panteleimon - General Hospital Nikaia/ Piraeus, 13. Agia Varvara - General Hospital Western Attica, 14. Pammakaristos Divine Welfare Hospital Athens, 15. Elpis General Hospital Athens, 16. G. G. Gennimatas - Athens General Hospital, 17. Sismanoglio General Hospital Athens and 18. Tzaneio General Hospital Piraeus). The purpose of the audits was to evaluate compliance with the control protocols and procedures included in the National COVID-19 Vaccination Plan during the vaccination of individuals aged 85 years and older.
- The initial findings of the on-the-spot audit did not reveal any problems in the vaccination process.
- The total number of persons registered for vaccination in the above 18 hospitals for the audited period was 1.620 and by the time of the audit 694 persons had been vaccinated. The NTA Auditors inspected the premises and identified the vaccinated persons according to the hospital lists.
- The data entry process using tablets proceeded smoothly.
- Further cross-checks and verifications of the collected data are being carried out.
The NTA in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Digital Governance, is conducting on-the-spot audits at vaccination centers throughout the country, with the primary goal of ensuring transparency and effectiveness in the vaccination process for citizens.
