Following the planning of inspections based on a risk assessment, between 24.06.2022 and 19.07.2022, teams of Auditors – Inspectors of the National Transparency Authority carried out inspections in (4) four campsites in Attica, one (1) in Boeotia, and one (1) in Thessaloniki, in order to ascertain their compliance with the applicable provisions governing their licensing and operation, their proper operation and the implementation of measures concerning the containment of the spread of SARS COV-2, as provided for in the relevant laws, Ministerials Decisions, Circulars and Directives of the National Public Health Organization (EODY) and the Ministries of Health and Labour.
Findings - Recommendations during the on-site inspection by the Inspectors - Auditors:
In the majority of the inspected institutions it was found that:
- the instructions of the EODY for the precaution of patients belonging to vulnerable groups and the rules for the visiting room were observed, proper disinfection of premises and surfaces was carried out, the specific instructions for cleaning staff and the procedure for disinfecting equipment were observed. In addition, the presence of antiseptics at the entrance and public areas was verified and thermometry was carried out at the entrance, as well as symptom checks of staff before they started work. No fines were imposed and improvement recommendations were made by the NTA teams to the operators' managers where necessary.
Specifically:
All the operators had a license to establish and operate and their operation was in accordance with the provisions of these licenses.
The number of campers accommodated and their distribution in the camp was in accordance with the provisions of the operating license.
The relevant circular instructions of the EODY and the Ministries of Health and Labour on measures to limit the spread of SARS COV-2 were complied with.
They had a fire safety certificate and an evacuation plan for the camp approved by the Fire Service.
The staff employed were in accordance with the conditions of operation of the camps and had the documents required in each case.
Insufficient cleanliness was found in the kitchen and worn screens in one camp.
Insufficient signage on personal protection measures against coronavirus was found in one camp.
Inspections continue throughout the country within the framework of the NΤΑ's responsibilities and mission throughout the implementation of the camping programme, with the aim of ensuring that businesses comply with the provisions governing their operating regime and protecting public health.
