On Friday 26 November, the NTA’s Governor, Mr. Angelos Binis, had a meeting with the Deputy Director General of DG HOME and Head of the Migration Management Task Force, Ms. Beate Gminder, at the NTA headquarters. The two sides had an interesting and constructive exchange of views on current developments and challenges facing the European Union in the areas of migration and asylum. The members of the NTA’s Management Team had the opportunity to present to Ms. Gminder and her colleagues the Authority’s organisational and operational structure and its activities in this policy area.
In addition, in view of Ms. Grinder’s participation in the “1st Integrity Forum” organised by the NTA on 9 December, coinciding with World Anti-Corruption Day, a preparatory briefing was held during the meeting for a particularly interesting thematic discussion that will take place at the Forum on the issue of migration flows. Mrs. Gminder will be invited to share her extensive experience in this field and to present the European Commission’s priorities, as this is a highly topical issue that affects the citizens of all EU Member States.
