A Memorandum of Cooperation was signed on 05.04.2022 by the Governor of the National Transparency Authority (NTA), Mr. Angelos Binis, and the Rector of the University of Macedonia, Professor Stylianos D. Katranidis.
Also, Mr Dimitrios Skiadas, Professor at the Department of International and European Studies, and Ms Mary Konstantinidou, Head of the General Directorate for Integrity and Accountability of NTA, were present.
The subject of the Memorandum is the cooperation between the NTA and the University of Macedonia in the provision of expertise and advisory services by the NTA on internal audit and strengthening of integrity mechanisms, as well as cooperation for the development of academic research, teaching, training and dissemination of knowledge on transparency and the fight against fraud and corruption.
In addition, in the context of the above, officials of the Authority and the University will prepare the establishment of an Independent Office of Integrity Advisor at the University of Macedonia, in accordance with the provisions of Law No. 4795/2021, as well as the exploitation of synergies in the design and implementation of educational seminars and awareness-raising activities on transparency and integrity issues.
