A Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) aiming at the implementation of education and training initiatives for the personnel and students of Panteion University, as well as the implementation of research activities on integrity and anti-corruption issues, was signed on 28.07.2021 by the Rector of Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences, Ms Christina Koulouri and the NTA’s Governor, Mr Angelos Binis.
The Memorandum aims at a multi-level cooperation with the implementation of activities in three axes. These pillars are:
a) The Educational Pillar, which includes, indicatively, the co-organisation of workshops with thematic topics related to internal audit, integrity and anti-corruption in public administration, as well as lectures by NTA officials to students of Panteion University
b) The Internal Audit Pillar, which includes the provision of expertise on internal audit issues to the Internal Audit Unit of Panteion University in order to improve its operation and the further training of its staff
c) The Research Activities Pillar, which includes actions related to the joint development and analysis of indicators for the evaluation of integrity and anti-corruption mechanisms in the public administration, as well as the assignment of theses and studies in areas within the NTA’s competence.
The Rector of Panteion University, Ms Christina Koulouri, stated that “The MoC seals the Panteion University's academic tradition in public administration studies and the institution's will for a strategic partnership with the NTA, which will benefit our students, administrative and teaching staff. The fight against corruption, based on the values of integrity and accountability, is a commitment of the Rectorate”.
The NTA’s Governor, Mr Angelos Binis, stated that “This cooperation is structures around the core mission and actions of the Authority regarding the strengthening of the the structural elements and procedures of the Internal Audit System in the country's academic institutions, as well as taking initiatives to raise awareness among students and the society in general on integrity and anti-corruption issues. I am confident that the cooperation with Panteion University will bring multiple benefits in the implementation of the National Strategy for Strengthening Transparency and Accountability”.
