A Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) was signed between the NTA Interim Governor Mrs Alexandra Rogkakou and the Governor of the Hellenic Labour Inspectorate (Independent Authority) Mr. George Tzilivakis on Friday 27.10.2023.

The purpose of the MoC is to provide expertise and advice from the NTA on internal control and integrity mechanisms. The two Authorities are laying the foundations for a multi-level cooperation aimed at implementing actions along three axes.

Specifically, a) the internal control axis which includes actions and tools to strengthen and evaluate the EU Internal Audit System, b) the integrity axis which includes actions and tools to strengthen integrity mechanisms such as the Auditors’ Code of Ethics and the implementation of integrity institutions such as the Integrity Advisor and the Reporting Officer, c) the risk management axis, which includes the joint conduct of a pilot assessment of corruption and integrity risks in a selected process or programme; d) the audit action axis, which includes the development of tools and support for audit work and the possibility of conducting joint audits; e) the education and awareness axis, which includes the joint organisation of awareness-raising activities on the above.

Alexandra Rogkakou, NTA Interim Governor, said that "We are very pleased to have concluded an agreement that sets the basis for a multi-level cooperation between the two Authorities and launches the planning of joint actions aimed at strengthening the procedures of the Internal Audit System of the Hellenic Labour Inspectorate. A cooperation that will have multiple benefits for society as well as for strengthening citizens' trust in the institutions".

The Governor of the Hellenic Labour Inspectorate, Mr. George Tzilivakis noted: "The Hellenic Labour Inspectorate, with a high sense of responsibility towards society, aims to modernize and continuously improve the quality of its audit work, as well as to effectively prevent delinquency in the field of labour and insurance legislation. In this context, we are confident that our cooperation with the NTA, both at an organisational level and in terms of joint actions, will contribute to the further development of the Hellenic Labour Inspectorate in terms of transparency and public accountability".
