The findings and recommendations of the NTA Auditors - Inspectors are contained in the Safety and Control Regulation for Entertainment Equipment and Devices (Ministerial Decision 50116/2020, Government Gazette 2065/B'/30.05.2020) signed by the Deputy Minister of Development and Investments and defines for the first time a comprehensive safety and control framework for all fixed and mobile entertainment and recreational equipment and devices. This regulates the uncontrolled operation of similar venues, on the premises of which tragic incidents have been recorded in the past that have shocked Greek society.
The regulation adopts the proposal of the specialized staff of the ΝΤΑ, in line with the European Standard EN 13814:2004 adopted by National Quality Infrastructure System (NQIS) in 2019, for the mandatory:
a) certification of the game devices for Entertainment Parks and other amusement venues
(b) regular inspection of the facilities and the elements used for their operation by recognized Inspection and Certification Bodies, in order to continuously ensure their safe operation and suitability, considering European standards.
The recommendations of the NTA Inspectors-Auditors are based on the results of thorough audits in entertainment Parks in Elliniko, as well as related entertainment facilities in the Municipalities of Maroussi, Oropos, Spata-Artemida, Nea Smyrni, Vari-Voula-Vouliagmeni, Alimos, Palaio Faliro and Nikaia-Ag. Ioannis Rentis, with the object of examining the licensing legality and control of the operation of various businesses that fall within the broader category of the concept of entertainment venues (amusement parks, playgrounds, fun parks, etc.).
The NTA cooperates with all relevant public and private bodies for the strict implementation of prevention, safety and certification measures for facilities and play structures, with the common goal of preventing further victims and new injuries in areas intended for the entertainment and play of our children.
