More than 250 primary and secondary school teachers had the opportunity to attend on 18 and 19 November the hybrid seminars organised in the framework of the implementation of the National Anti -Corruption Action Plan (NACAP 2018-2021), by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and the NTA, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs and the Institute of Education Policy (IEP). The seminars are part of the technical cooperation project on anti-corruption in Greece, which is implemented by UNODC and NTA with the financial support of the European Commission.

The seminars opened with the greetings of the Deputy Minister of Education and Religious Affairs, Mrs. Makri, the General Secretary of elementary, secondary and special education, Mr. Koptsis, the NTA Governor, Mr. Binis, the Head NTA’s General Directorate for Integrity and Accountability Mrs. Konstantinidou, the Head of the Corruption and Economic Crime Section of UNODC, Mr. Gallo, and the Senior Advisor for Social Sciences of the Institute of Educational Policy, Mrs. Giovanoglou. The response of the teachers was impressive, with a total of over two hundred and fifty (250) participants who attended these hybrid seminars on both days.

The project aims to raise awareness of public integrity and accountability issues among primary and secondary school students through the development and use of standard educational tools and methodologies. In this context, over the last 12 months, through an interactive and participatory process, a set of programmes has been developed, including interactive and innovative educational material, as well as practical pedagogical guidelines. The main objective of these seminars was to increase the capacity of our teachers to use these innovative materials in the classroom, and they were widely well received by the participating educators.
