The Conference on "Enhancing transparency and integrity in public procurement through an integrated risk management system" was successfully conducted at EKDDA, aimed at presenting the results of a technical assistance project implemented by the NTA in cooperation with HSPPA, the General Secretariat for Commerce and the OECD, with the funding of the Technical Support Instrument (TSI) of the European Commission.
In the context of the conference, public officials from the national institutions and experts from abroad highlighted the deliverables of the project and in particular:
The benefits of implementing a comprehensive framework for identifying and mitigating risks in public procurement,
the added value of a risk-based audit planning methodology
the importance of adopting the model Code of Conduct to reinforce the values of integrity and accountability among public procurement professionals
More than 1.000 participants from the public and private sector had the opportunity to learn about the tools developed during the project as well as good practices implemented in other EU countries. The discussion focused on the use of the potential of AI in the fields of repression and prevention of fraud and corruption, and the main challenges for their implementation.
