On the occasion of International Children's Day, the Hellenic Parliament and the National Transparency Authority organized on Monday 20 November at the former Public Tobacco Factory, an event to award the students who excelled in the 2nd Panhellenic Student Creativity Contest "Leaders of Integrity for Tomorrow", on the theme “No to violence, yes to friendship. Block bullying”.
The competition was organized by the National Transparency Authority during the school year 2022-2023 with the aim of informing and raising awareness of the phenomenon of bullying among students of Primary and Secondary Education in the country, as well as Greek schools abroad. In total, 176 schools from all over the country were represented with the participation of 1,975 students and the creation of 1,184 projects, both group and individual. It is worth noting that 70% of the artworks came from schools in the Region. The evaluation of the projects was carried out by a seven-member committee, whose members included representatives of the NTA, the Library of the Hellenic Parliament, the Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs & Sports, and the National Commission for Human Rights. The highest-scoring student projects that will be awarded the prize are 12 artworks.
After the awards ceremony, the opening of the painting exhibition entitled ‘No to violence, Yes to friendship. Block bullying’, followed, in addition to the winning artworks, featuring a total of 120 works by students who excelled in the competition, sending a strong message in favour of respect for the individuality of each child, acceptance of diversity, justice, integrity, and solidarity.
