The Deputy Minister of Civil Protection and Crisis Management, Mr. Nikos Hardalias, visited today the NTA to meet with the Governor, Mr. Angelos Binis and Authority’s executives.
During the meeting, Mr. Hardalias emphasised the NTA’s pivotal role in the fight against the pandemic, providing invaluable assistance to the Civil Protection forces as an audit mechanism and offering substantial added value in ensuring compliance with the measures to limit the spread of the coronavirus.
In particular, the Deputy Minister highlighted: “It is of the utmost importance that we all adhere strictly to the measures in place to ensure the continued health and wellbeing of our entire workforce. The NTA’s contribution to this daily battle is of great value. It is only through collective effort that we can achieve success. By working together, citizens, Civil Protection and audit mechanisms can ensure strict compliance with the measures. This is not just a necessity, but also an imperative and a duty for all of us, particularly in light of the overwhelming majority of citizens, the Greek people, who demonstrate their trust in us every day and apply the measures with great perseverance and patience. By complying with the measures and applying the laws, we can save lives”.
Mr. Hardalias also expressed his gratitude to all Authority staff members, emphasizing “Please accept my warmest congratulations for your significant contribution and the exemplary sense of responsibility you demonstrate on a daily basis. I would like to express my sincerest gratitude for the exemplary level of collaboration in this national, joint initiative to protect public health and ensure the safety of Greek citizens”.
The NTA Governor, Mr. Angelos Binis, expressed his gratitude to the Deputy Minister for the excellent cooperation, noting: "The excellent cooperation with the Deputy Minister and the Civil Protection officials allows us to be more efficient in planning and implementing the inspection missions. This enables us to be in any part of the country within two hours and carry out specific and fully targeted inspections, making the best use of the Authority's experienced inspectors. Our main objective is to protect public health and prevent a second wave of the virus from occurring”.
