Working Meetings between NTA, ANI and the Romanian Ministry of Justice
On Tuesday, January 31, 2023, the two-day working meetings, were concluded in Bucharest, after an invitation from the Romanian Integrity Authority (ANI), with the participation of officials from the Romanian Authority for Integrity, the Romanian Ministry of Justice, and the National Transparency Authority of Greece.
The meetings took place within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the two Authorities with the aim of strengthening bilateral cooperation through the exchange of expertise on issues related to the prevention and fight against corruption, such as the prevention of conflict of interest, the PREVENT system used by ANI for the prevention of conflicts of interest in public procurement, lobbying activities, and the management and control of assets and financial declarations.
In addition, the gift policy and the design, monitoring, and evaluation of national anti-corruption strategic plans were discussed between the representatives of the NTA and the Ministry of Justice, which is the coordinating body for the implementation of the national anti-corruption strategy in Romania.
Finally, the competences and activities of the two authorities were summarized and areas of common interest were further explored for future cooperation.
