The NTA Governor, Mr. Angelos Binis, addressed a short speech at an event organised by the Ministry of Finance with the participation of the Deputy Minister to the Prime Minister, responsible for State Relief and Disaster Recovery, Mr. Christos Triantopoulos and the Chairman of the FATF (Financial Action Task Force) Dr. Marcus Pleyer.
Mr. Binis referred to the very good cooperation between the Greek government and the agencies involved in the fight against corruption and the FATF, the international organization that sets the global standards for the prevention and combating of money laundering and terrorist financing. The guidelines and best practices that the FATF communicates to its members, as well as the discussions that take place in the context of the organisation’s various activities, provide a guide for innovative initiatives at national level. He noted that “We thank Mr. Pleyer for being with us in Thessaloniki as part of the 85th TIF and we are committed to continue with him our joint effort to address the global challenges in the field of combating money laundering and terrorist financing”.
