The Code of Conduct for Seconded Officials and Special Advisers is the outcome of the efforts made in recent years by the Greek State to ensure that the fundamental values and principles of the Administration, such as ethics, integrity and accountability, are established in every area of public authority. The added value of the Code is significant, as the framework of obligations and behaviours governing the actions of seconded officials and special advisers serving in private offices and the Presidency of the Government is not strictly defined in legislation, and it contributes to the effective functioning of the private offices of the heads of public sector entities.
The Code is an action included in the Pillar "Prevention-Integrity-Compliance" of the National Anti-Corruption Action Plan (Action 2.1.12) and the National Integrity System 2022-2025 (Action a/a 7), and was issued in compliance with Article 76 par. 4(b) of Law 4622/2019 and the relevant Law No. ΓΓΑΔΔΤ 300/6546/2023 Decision of the Minister of Interior.
The action was implemented by the Integrity Policies and Standards Directorate of the General Directorate for Integrity and Accountability of the National Transparency Authority.
