Within the framework of the EEA Grants Financial Mechanism 2014-2021, the National Transparency Authority implements in cooperation with the OECD implements the project "Strengthening integrity, transparency and anti-corruption framework" aiming to support the implementation of National Anti-Corruption Action Plan (NACAP), as the national framework for planning and monitoring the implementation of policies and actions to prevent and combat corruption and a key tool for monitoring the country's compliance with the requirements arising from: a) its participation in the EU and b) the binding recommendations of international organizations.
More specifically, the project aims to support the effective implementation of NACAP actions connected to priorities of the National Integrity System (NIS), which is a national strategic reform for preventing corruption and strengthening transparency, integrity and accountability in public life.
The project scope includes the following activities:
- Mapping of national framework and international practices on how to identify, disclose, address, prevent, detect and manage present and potential conflict of interest situations.
- Preparing Proposals for Greece to consider possible legislative changes and reforms leading to a coherent policy, as well as international good practices and tools concerning the management of conflicts of interest.
- Creation of a web-based training tool to enhance public officials’ skills and critical thinking on public integrity issues.
- Design and conduct of a survey for public servants measuring the implementation and the impact of integrity policies.
- Organising in co-operation with the NTA a multi-stakeholder conference to communicate project results and impacts
The project has a budget of 484.037,00 € and is co-funded by the EEA Grants Financial Mechanism, which represents the contribution of Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway towards a green, competitive and inclusive Europe.
